Colour banding, especially in a full head application, can occur when a client has been using home hair dye or when colour has been slightly overlapped during application. To address this issue and shift the unwanted colour bands, you can use Color Renew, which is a zero-damage colour reducer. Follow these steps:
- Prepare the Color Renew Mixture: Mix the contents of the crystal powder sachet (9 grams) with 90 grams of activator liquid. Stir until the mixture begins to thicken and becomes smooth.
- Apply the Color Renew Mixture: Apply the prepared Color Renew mixture directly to the hair where the colour banding is present. Comb it through the affected areas.
- Cover with a Cap and Apply Heat: Place a cap over the treated hair and put it under heat to develop. Allow it to process for 30-45 minutes.
- Rinse Thoroughly: After the processing time, rinse the hair thoroughly to remove the Color Renew mixture.
- Shampoo with Aqua Pure Twice: Shampoo the hair twice using Aqua Pure shampoo. Do not apply conditioner at this stage.
- Dry the Hair Fully: Ensure that the hair is completely dry before proceeding to the next step.
- Apply Desired Shade: Apply the desired hair colour using either Koleston Perfect or Illumina.
These steps should help eliminate colour banding and achieve a more even and desired hair colour result.
