Bleeding highlights

If you’re dealing with highlights that have bled, here’s what you can do:

  1. Carefully and finely weave out the areas that have bled.
  2. Place a foil or wrap under the weaved section.
  3. Depending on your client’s base shade, choose a color with slight warmth in it, such as gold or red tones.
  4. Use a 4% developer to refoil the affected areas.
  5. Leave the foils in place for 20 minutes to ensure the color takes sufficiently on the affected areas.

Keep in mind that if the hair is porous, it will absorb color quickly but may also release it quickly. If the color looks too dark immediately after the process, explain to the client that one wash should bring it to the perfect shade.
