Overtoning

Overtoning can occur when hair is porous. To counteract overtoning, follow these steps:

  1. Shampoo with Aqua Pure Shampoo: Begin by shampooing the hair with Aqua Pure shampoo. Leave the shampoo on the hair.
  2. Apply Heat for 10 Minutes: Place the client under a heat source for 10 minutes. This helps in lifting out the overtoned areas.
  3. Apply Porosity Filling Spray: After removing the overtoned areas, apply a porosity filling spray to towel-dried hair. This will help even out the porosity of the hair if you decide to tone it again.
  4. Tone the Roots First: When toning the hair again, always start with the roots. Freshly coloured hair at the roots is less likely to be as porous as the midlengths and ends.

These steps should help rectify the issue of overtoning and ensure a more even and balanced tone in the hair.
